Nieto's Story

She was walking the run as at the city pound when she saw him. He was so thin and in so much pain, he just stood there with his head hanging down, his skin bloody, his skeleton visible. As she walked past his cage, he made a strange small sound. He wanted to be petted but he couldn’t move he was in so much pain. She decided to take him home but in order to remove him from the shelter he had to be muzzled, carried and immediately transported to the hospital where he would spend a long time recovering. At that time, this large-boned pit bull terrier weighed 42 pounds.

After much loving care and many veterinary bills, Neito is now a goofy, happy slob weighing in at 87pounds.
