Coco Bean's Story

Nita after rescue

Look at me! Do I look proud of myself, or what! I've had a heck of a time getting my health back. When I arrived at PPR, I was bald and covered with sores. Things kept getting worse...from mange, to skin infections, then fungal infections that still have my toenails curling in crazy directions. But my spirit is strong! I am so happy in my foster home! I dance on my auntie's computer and wiggle through her laundry. I have a soldier friend oversees in Iraq who is helping me...what more could a girl want? Ok, maybe a girl could want one more thing. I am honored to have a military man on my side, but I wish someone would adopt me. I have lived through a serious case of heartworms, innumerable infections and was almost blind before PPR came to my aid…yet still no one special enough has come forward to take me home. I need someone who is patient and can see me through my recovery. I still cough a lot. I still need baths weekly. Where are all the retired nurses out there? Could you be the one?
